The Resume and Cover Letter

A resume or curriculum vita (CV) provides potential employers with a summary of your qualifications. While resumes serve as general outlines of your work history, a CV is also a detailed history of your academic accomplishments. CVs are used mainly in academia.

The cover letter accompanies the resume, and provides a means to directly tie the experience outlined in the resume to the needs of a particular job or employer.
