Citing Your Sources: APA

The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) is commonly used in social sciences fields, such as education, sociology, nursing, political science, criminal justice, and psychology. If unclear, ask your instructor which style (and edition of APA) is preferred for your assignment.

Note: APA launched a 7th Edition of their Style Guidelines in October 2019. The resources below reflect the 7th Edition. Also: citations generated in library databases (OneSearch, EBSCOHost, etc.) often contain errors in formatting (especially title capitalization). If using that feature, make sure you double-check against the guidelines.
