Self-Help

Tutorials to help you use the library, do academic level research, and find resources.

How do I get the full-text for an item?

  1. Not everything on every results page is available in full-text (sometimes it is useful to know something exists, even if we don't have access to it).
  2. ONLY if you see a "full-text" link (Go To Full-Text, PDF Full-Text, Full-Text Finder, view EBook, HTML full-text) under a result on the results page will that item be available through our library.
  3. If an item is NOT available, you can try contacting your local academic or public library to see if they might have the item in print so you might visit that library in person, and read it there or photocopy it. You need to contact that local library for details. Note: active ESC students can borrow circulating print materials at most SUNY/CUNY libraries.
  4. Full-Text Finder: if you click that link and get a blank page, click the "open the page in a new window" link within the colored stripe at the top of the page to view the article.
